Wienerberger launches $45m brick plant in Tatarstan

German Wienerberger AG has built a $45m brick plant in the Republic of Tatarstan, new agency RIA Novosti reports.

The project was reportedly partly financed with a loan from European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).

Under plans, the plant is to produce ceramic porous stones and blocks to be used in walls construction. The plants projected annual capacity is 150 million bricks.

The project to build the plant kicked off in November 2007.
