South Korea’s Global Express has started charcoal production worth $1m in Primorsky Region’s town of Partizansk, RIA Novosti reported today, citing city officials.

The company invested in the facility $1m and expects charcoal to be produced there to be exported to South Korea as valuable fuel, the officials said.

Local wood will reportedly be used as raw material, including woodworking wastes.

At the initial stage, 50 new jobs will be created at the plant, the report said.
