Volvo opens $132m plant in Kaluga

Large European auto manufacturer Volvo has opened its $132m plant to produce trucks in Kaluga, regional officials report.

The plant is reportedly to create 1,000 local jobs.

Under plans, the plant is to annually produce 10,000 Volvo trucks and 5,000 Renault Premium and Kerax trucks.

Construction started in October 2007, officials said.
