Prodimex spends $170m to diversify into dairies

Yury Kochev, deputy general director of Centralno-Chernozemnaya Agropromishlennaya Kompaniya, the company owned by Prodimex, has announced a $170m plan to diversify into the dairy business in the Voronezth region.

The eight farms the company will build will be able to accommodate 1,200 cattle heads each.

The company is planning to build two farms in a year until 2011, when plans call for one new farm to be added each year.

The overall production capacity of the planned eight farms is estimated at 60,000 tons of milk, Kochev said.
