Volvo Trucks to invest $200m in its Kaluga plant development

Swedish auto maker Volvo Trucks has announced plans to invest about $197m in production development at its trucks plant in Kaluga.

Under plans, the funds are to be spent on construction of the second launch complex of the plant, and organization of production of truck cabins.

Timeframes for the project have yet to be disclosed.

The Volvo plant was opened in Kaluga in January 2009. Its annual production capacity is 10,000 Volvo trucks and 5,000 Renault trucks.

Investment in the first launch complex of the truck has reportedly come in at $130m.
