South Koreas KT&G launches $100m cigarette plant in Kaluga region

South Korean cigarettes manufacturer KT&G has put into commission a $100m plant to produce cigarettes in Kaluga region, the company reports.

The 28,000-square-meter plant is reportedly located on a 103,000-square-meter land site in the regions Borovsky district.

The plant is currently equipped with four production lines with overall production annual capacity of about 5 billion cigarettes, the firm said.

Under plans, the company is to launch another four production lines and to increase the plants production annual capacities to 15 billion cigarettes.

The plant is to produce cigarettes under ESSE Blue superslim brand.
