Auto giants Sollers and Fiat intend to invest $535m launching production of engines for Fiat Ducato cars in Russia, news agency RIA Novosti reports.
The companies are currently choosing between two plants to be used for engines production – Sollers’ Fiat plant in Alabuga special economic zone in the Republic of Tatarstan and Sollers’ subsidiary Zavolzhye engine plant ZMZ in Nizhny Novgorod region.
Projected annual capacity is to average 250,000-300,000 engines.
Timeframes for the project have yet to be disclosed.
