UMMC and Russian Copper in Chelyabinsk Zinc move

Metal and mining company UMMC and Russian Copper intend to buy into Chelyabinsk Zinc, which is part of the ChTPZ metal and pipe group, RIA Novosti reported today.

The potential buyers are reportedly waiting for approval of the deal by Russias Federal Anti-monopoly Service.

Terms of the deal have yet to be announced.

It was reported earlier that Chelyabinsk Zincs Q1 net loss had reduced from Q4 2008 to $12.6m.
