Bankrupt Minal sold for $1.6m to Baikalpharm

Republic of Buryatia vodka manufacturer Baikalpharm has been announced the winner of a public offer auction to buy bankrupt alcohol producing complex Minal in Krasnoyarsk region, regional officials report.

The complex is reportedly sold for $1.6m.

Minal includes Minusinsky Distillery with annual capacity of 1.2 million decaliters of vodka and Znamenka spirit plant with annual capacity of 1 million decaliters of spirit.

As Marchmont reportedly earlier, in April Minal creditors had put out the complex out for sale at starting maximum price of $2.2m, with descending price step of $170,000 (see news of April 14, 2010).
