Toyota, Mitsui and Sollers to launch car production in Vladivostok

Japanese concern Toyota, in cooperation with Mitsui&Co and Russian car producer Sollers, intend to launch car production in Vladivostok, Primorsky region, Kommersant reports.

Investment in the project and the partners’ shares have yet to be disclosed.

The complex’s projected annual capacity is 30,000 assembled cars, including sedans and 4WDs.

Under plans, the complex is to be based at premises of Sollers auto plant, Toyota is to supply car parts from Japan, and Mitsui is to transport new cars to other regions of Russia via railway.

The cars production is scheduled to be launched in 2012.
