Russian Grain sows $84m for new farms, seed plant

Voronezh-based agricultural company Russkoye Zerno (Russian Grain) has announced $84m plans to build three dairy farms and a seed plant in Voronezh region.

Most of the financing will be provided by Sberbank, the firm said.

The new seed plant will have a projected annual capacity of 100,000 tons of grain, rapeseed and corn. It will be built on a thirty-hectare site in Paninsky district.

A dairy farm for 1,200 cattle head will be built in Khokholsky district and two 600-cattle-head farms will be established in the Semiluksky district, the firm said.

Construction is scheduled to finish in late 2009.
