Tatarstan to build $3.6bn social facilities

Authorities in the Republic of Tatarstan have approved a $3.6bn long-term social facilities infrastructure development program, Kommersant reports.

Under the program, the funds are to be spent on construction and reconstruction of 1,585 social facilities, including kindergartens, schools, sports, medical and cultural facilities, in order to ensure provision of state social guarantees.

Of the total funding, $1.3bn is to be spent on regional facilities, and $2.3bn is to be invested in municipal facilities.

The funds are to be raised from the federal, regional and municipal budgets. Timeframes of construction depends on the funds assignment, officials said.
