$34m to reduce unemployment in Tatarstan

A total of $34m is to be assigned to address rising unemployment issues in the Republic of Tatarstan, regional officials report.

Of the total funds, 90% is reportedly to be provided from the federal budget, with the remainder to be put up by regional authorities.

Under plans, the funds are to be used to retrain personnel, support starting small businesses, to promote labor migration within Russia, to provide community service jobs and on other forms of state support.

As a result of the investment, unemployment issues are to be relieved for about 50,000 residents, officials said.
