Omsk investment over 2008 totals $302m

Investment into Omsk region economy over 2008 totaled over $302m, up 2.5 times on 2007, officials report.

Investment growth of 37.5% over the same period in 2007 was reportedly record high in the last three years.

The main investors were oil and gas companies Gazpromneft and Transsibneft, national railroad operator Russian Railways, energy distribution grid company MRSK Siberia, foods producer Wimm-Bill-Dann, Swedish furniture manufacturer IKEA and German retailer Metro Cash&Carry, officials said.
