Pharmaceutical y-tracers production and projects in the automotive sector in the Leningrad region outside St. Petersburg are of special interest for Chinese business, the regional news agency Baltinfo.ru reported, citing an announcement by the regional government after the most recent visit to China by a delegation of Leningrad regional officials.
“China’s business community has shown openness and friendliness. They are particularly interested in sectors that require and/or call for production localization, primarily projects in pharmaceutical y-tracers manufacture and the automotive sector. Other areas of interest include cooperation in energy, a sector where Chinese companies are facing technical barriers and ensuing problems with exporting certain items to Russia. For example, in the manufacture of electrical grid equipment, we agreed that our Chinese partners would continue cooperation with Lenenergo [the electrical power supplier in the Leningrad region]. On top of it, we discussed opportunities for the setup of joint innovation sites in Gatchina [a city in the Leningrad region] where a nanotech center will soon open,” Leningrad Vice Governor Dmitry Yalov said.
Mr. Yalov underscored that the region was considering hosting a Chinese business delegation to discuss further matters.
