12 Feb '13
Young Moscow-based scientists will get government backing in the form of a monetary bonus; up to 300 specially selected researchers will be eligible for $16,600 in grant support as an encouragement for their contribution in innovation, and as support of their current projects, Vmdaily.ru reported Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin as announcing the initiative last week.

In addition, Mr. Sobyanin said that the Moscow City Duma, the legislative assembly, has passed two laws granting property, land and profit tax benefits to techno-polises (innovation boroughs) and techno-parks in Moscow.

To improve the procedure of helping young technology entrepreneurs the Russian capital has also set up a special accelerator called the Start-up Support Fund.
