Primorsky regionís agriculture eyes $23.3m budget support

Authorities in Primorsky region have announced plans to allocate $23.3m from the regional budget on agricultural sector development in 2011.

Under plans, $6.1m is to be spent on animal breeding support, $4.1m is to be invested into plant growing, and $5.3m is to be spent on maintenance of soil fertility.

The funds were also used to redeem part of interest rates on bank loans, taken out by agricultural producers on production development, villages re-equipment, compensation of insurance payments, provision of housing for young specialists in the villages, the officials said.
