Buryatia’s agriculture gets $23m support

A total of $23m is to be spent on agricultural sector support in the Republic of Buryatia in 2009, regional officials report.

Of the total funding, $15m is reportedly to be assigned from the federal budget, with the remainder to be put up be regional authorities.

Under plans, the funds are to be used in give subsidies to agricultural firms and to redeem part of interest rate on bank loans, taken out to finance agrarian projects.
