MES East in $59.7 move to upgrade BK-2 substation

10 Apr '09
Energy supplier MES East is to invest over $59.7m into complex reconstruction of substation BK-2 in Primorsky Krai, the firm said today.

Under the move, the firm says the capacity of the substation, put into commission in 1966, will increase from 96 MVA to 206 MVA, according to the company.

The firm said the move would see the substation able to supply one of the area's major plants, Dalnevostochny Zavod Zvezda.

Reconstruction is scheduled for December 2010.

MES East is part of energy operator FSK UES.
