Ust-Srednekanskaya’s $70.6m earmark aired

The Ust-Srednekanskaya hydroelectric power station in Magadan Region will be completed despite the crisis, Magadan Governor Nikolai Dudov claims.

In 2009, $70.6m has been earmarked for the project, he said.

According to Leonid Murin, the CEO of local energy supplier Kolymaenergo, 1,500 locals are employed at the construction site.

Two power units will be installed this year, the CEO said.
