Amurs 10 billion kW-h in China yearly exports expected

Amur Region has signed an export contract with China for the supply of 240 million kilowatt-hours of electricity to the neighboring country starting March 2 and for three months going forward, news agency REGNUM reported today, citing regional officials.

Total sales in 2009 are expected to amount to 1 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity, the report said.

Inter RAO UES is acting as an exporting agent.

Further on China reportedly looks set to purchase as much as 10 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity each year.
