Kaluga Turbines in $4.6m Okhinskaya contract

Kaluga Turbines has signed a $4.6m equipment supply contract with Okhinskaya thermak power station, RIA Novosti reported today.

The contract stipulates the manufacture and supply of a 25MW turbine by February 2010, the news agency said.

Turbines for Okhinskaya are different from standard ones that Kaluga Turbines makes as they allow for operation in magnitude 9 seismicity.

Okhinskaya thermal power station is located in the northern part of Sakhalin 143 kilometers away from energy supplier Sakhalinenergos central grid.
