Energy company IES Holding has announced plans to invest over $235m in reconstruction of Perm TPS-9 thermal power station.

Under plans, the company is to switch one of steam power units to steam gas cycle and install and a gas turbine with power capacity of 160 MW.

As a result of modernization, the thermal station’s power capacity is to increase by over 30% – to over 600 MW, the firm said.

Reconstruction is scheduled to be completed in 2012.
