Vladivostok eyes mini heat and power plant series

The gas/diesel-fueled Severnaya mini heat and power plant has been put into operation in Vladivostok, energy company RAO ES East announced.

The cost of the project has yet to be specified.

Under plans, this is one of a future series of mini heat and power plants to be built in the city by the 2012 APEC summit it is hosting.

According to the source, construction of another one, $27.7m Centralnaya, is currently under way, with Phase 1 scheduled for completion this November.
