Interregional grid company MES Siberia has put into commission a new $13.4m reactive-power thyristor compensator at its Zarya substation in Novosibirsk region, the company reports.

The compensator, with power capacity of 150 MVAr, is reportedly to regulate voltage in adjacent electricity grid.

MES Siberia is a part of national grid operator FSK-UES.
