Inter RAO UES reports record energy sales to China

20 Nov '09
East Energy, which is part of energy supplier Inter RAO UES, exported to China more than 630 million kilowatt-hours of electricity between March 1 and now, RIA Novosti reports, citing an East Energy source.

It is reportedly more than an annual average over the past ten years.

Inter RAO UES has been selling energy under an agreement inked with China in February 2009.

Under plans, China will buy a total of 800 million kilowatt-hours of electricity. In 2010, sales may increase to 1-1.2 billion kilowatt-hours.
