Interregional grid operator MES West Siberia has started construction of a $96m 220 kV Mangazeya substation in Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous District, the company reports.
The new substation is reportedly to supply energy to Vankorsky group of oil and gas deposits.
Under plans, the substation is to be equipped with 110 and 220 kV SF-6-insulated open switchgears with, two transformers with power capacity of 125 MVA each, voltage transformers, high-frequency chokes, excess-voltage suppressor, access ways for 220 kV power line Urengoyskaya GRES – Mangazeya.
Construction of the substation is scheduled to be completed in 2012.
MES West Siberia is a part of national grid operator FSK UES.
