Stavropol’s $152m water pipes overhaul

Authorities in Stavropol region have announced plans to spend $152m on repairs and reconstruction of water supply pipes and water disposal facilities in 2009-2013.

Of the total funding, $105 is to be assigned from the regional budget, $25m is to be spent by municipal water supplier Stavropolkraivodokanal, and $22m is to be borrowed.

Under plans, the funds are to be used to replace 1,176 kilometers of outworn water pipes, and to overhaul 11 water disposal facilities.
