Tambov region’s $580m energy saving program

Authorities in Tambov region have announced plans to carry out a $580m energy saving and energy efficiency program to run over 2010-2020.

Of the total funding, $42m is reportedly to be allocated from the federal budget, $45m is to be assigned from the regional budget, $38m is to be put up by local authorities, and $455m is hoped to be raised from non-budgetary sources.

Under plans, the funds are to be used to install electricity, heat, water and gas meters in all apartment blocks.
